Brotato: Primal Dread Release Date and Platforms

Reviewed: · Primal Dread Wiki editors

Brotato: Primal Dread launched November 2, 2026 on Steam. Here's the confirmed date, time-zone note, price, and what PC sources say about consoles.

Brotato: Primal Dread released on November 2, 2026 on Steam. That is the date listed on the official Steam store page for the DLC, and the developer's launch announcement was published the same day.

The exact date depends on your time zone

A developer post from October 30, 2026 said the unlock would fall "between November 2nd and November 3rd" depending on where players live. So if you were watching from a region ahead of the store's reference time, the DLC may have become available on the 3rd in your local calendar. The official release date is still November 2, 2026.

Price and requirements

  • Price: $3.99 (also €3.99, £3.39, CN¥18.00), per the October 8 announcement.
  • Base game required: Primal Dread is paid DLC. You need Brotato on Steam to play it.
  • Bundles: The Steam page lists a Brotato + Abyssal Terrors + Primal Dread bundle (10% off) and a larger bundle that adds the soundtrack (15% off).

See the price page for a fuller breakdown, or the Steam page guide for store details.

Platforms: what is and isn't confirmed

The official PC sources collected here — Steam and the developer announcements — establish a PC release on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The Steam store also lists shared/split-screen co-op and Remote Play Together, covered in the co-op guide.

What shipped with the DLC

The launch post and Steam listing describe the paid content as:

  • A new Jungle map with 20 waves of new enemies, elites, and bosses
  • 10 new characters
  • 17 new weapons
  • 40 new items
  • A new Evolution stat with Mecha and Mutation paths
  • New music tracks and new achievements

The gameplay guide and Jungle guide cover these in more depth. The Evolution stat is the DLC's headline mechanic — see the Evolution overview and the Mecha and Mutation pages.

Free update shipped alongside it

The DLC launched with a free base-game update (version 1.2.0.0), detailed in the Update 1.2 post. It added an Item Set menu (toggle expansion content on or off) and rebalanced Nightmare difficulty and several older characters. These changes are free and separate from the paid DLC.

A follow-up patch v1.2.0.1, published November 3, 2026, focused on bug fixes and a few small tweaks. The developer said balancing would follow after reading player feedback.
