Brotato: Primal Dread Pets — What's Confirmed
Reviewed: · Primal Dread Wiki editors
Three new pets are confirmed for Primal Dread, plus the Baby Trex speed cap from the November 3 patch. No full roster is published.
The official Brotato: Primal Dread launch announcement confirms 3 new pets were added in the DLC. It does not publish a full pet roster, per-pet stats, or exactly how each pet is obtained, so treat any complete table claiming otherwise as unverified.
What the official sources say
The Primal Dread launch announcement lists "3 new Pets" among the DLC additions, alongside 17 new weapons and more than 30 new items. The same post introduces the Fossil item family, where each Fossil's effect gets stronger for every other Fossil in your inventory — a natural pairing if you are stacking item synergy.
The Steam store page repeats the DLC feature list (Jungle map, 10 characters, 17 weapons, 40 items, Evolution stat) without adding pet specifics.
The one documented pet stat change
The Patch v1.2.0.1 notes, published November 3, 2026, include a balance line that directly affects a pet:
- Baby Trex speed is now capped at 95% of the target player's max speed.
That is the only pet-specific numeric change in the official patch notes provided. It confirms the Baby Trex exists and follows the player, but it does not establish its damage, cooldown, or how you acquire it.
Community observations (not official)
A creator gameplay video shows pets during a Droid run, including a Shooter Cat described as firing projectiles based on ranged damage, with attack speed rising when near the player or another pet. The same video mentions a small T-Rex-like pet whose exact role the creator could not confirm. These are player observations, not developer data:
A separate DLC breakdown video notes pets were visible in the trailer but could not confirm their function from the clip alone. Treat numbers in both videos as unverified.
How pets fit the build decision
Pets are one piece of a larger choice. The Evolution overview covers the two directions — Mecha and Mutation — while the weapons page, items page, and Fossils page cover the gear side.
